Only then can the final assembly take place, often with the help of magnifying glass and tweezers. This part of the work resembles that of a watchmaker: spokes only 3 mm long are being attached to rims, tires with the original profile feature real working valves, wheel locks carry the embossed logo of the manufacturer.
Where cables and pipes – braking pipes, cooling pipes, electrical cables – were located in the original car, they can also be found in the model. The seats are upholstered and covered with real leather or fabrics in original designs, and will click into place just like in the original. If the historic original had a carpet-lined trunk, then the model will be equipped in the same fashion.
Front lights, indicator lights, mirrors get mounted on the car, and finally the paint will be polished to a high shine. The final quality checkup will decide whether each single model really fulfills the high demands on quality – only then will it be packaged and shipped.
