One example for this is the most recent model, the CMC Mercedes Benz 300SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe. There are only two original cars in the whole world. This coupe was developed on the basis of the 300SL Coupe and the 300 SLR-R (R like Racing). In 1955, two prototypes were built – one was used as a training car in Sicily, the second coupe was driven as a company car by Rudolf Uhlenhaut, constructing engineer and later a managing director of Mercedes-Benz. Regrettable for everybody: this super sports car was never manufactured as a regular series – even though it was spectacularly beautiful, had an outstanding engine power of 300 hp and reached an incredible top speed of 280 km/h (175 mph).
